Washington DC, February 11, 2019—Mr. Hongbin Bao, head of Nguyen & Chen LLP’s M&A practice, participated in a panel discussion with law students at Georgetown Law School, at the invitation of Georgetown’s Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA).
During the Choosing Your Practice Group discussion, Mr. Bao shared his extensive China-related M&A experience with the law students, ranging from NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement), LOI (Letter of Intent), DD Report (Due Diligence Report), to SPA (Stock Purchase Agreement). In particular, Mr. Bao advised students with interest in the field of M&A to take classes offered by the business school regarding financial statement and valuation.
Among the panelists were lawyers from Sidley Austin, Cooley, Ropes & Gray, and Baker Botts, in the areas of IP litigation, Technology and IP transaction, tax, and antitrust.
Despite the recent decline of China-related M&A in the US market due to the on-going US-China tariff conflict, Nguyen & Chen has refocused its China practice on National Security Review (CFIUS), Export Control, and Trade Compliance. Mr. Bao’s participation in the panel discussion at Georgetown Law School not only inspired the law students into explore the niche legal market of China-related M&A in the US, but it also reaffirmed our firm’s commitment to assisting Chinese clients with their compliance matters in Washington D.C.
